TREASURER’S REPORT

A Bridge to the Future: Education, Community Outreach, and Research

Like any prudent architect, HealthCare Chaplaincy firmly believes in investing in the foundation of its bridges to ensure their expansive reach and lasting future. Our program expenditures for education, community outreach, and research increased by a remarkable 424% over the past ten years, and by 19% from 1999 to 2000. Many of these programs are conducted in conjunction with our partner institutions, creating new links to the communities they serve. the Chaplaincy's fiscal trustees firmly believe that by strengthening these building blocks, we are securing the future of our mission—to bring compassionate spiritual care to all those who are suffering in body, mind, and spirit.

Despite this consistent growth, our operating costs remain low. An impressive 85% of the Chaplaincy's total operating income in 2000 was dedicated exclusively to program services—patient and family care, clinical pastoral education, community outreach, and research—demonstrating proficient management of operating expenses.

Year after year, we are blessed with the support of our healthcare partners and a distinguished community of individual and institutional donors. We extend our deepest gratitude to these friends, who make it possible for us to continue this ministry of bridge building.
