Jeannette Watson Sanger founded New York City's fabled Madison Avenue bookstore, Books & Co., in 1977 and was its proprietor until it closed its doors in May 1997. She and the bookstore have been memorialized in two publications: Bookstore: The Life and Times of Jeanette Watson and Books & Co., and Letters to a Bookstore: Books & Co. 1978-1998. Jeannette is currently working as a healer in an independent practice using both Healing Touch and shamanic techniques. She is a graduate of the Four Winds-Healing the Light Body School and has recently become a certified leader of Laughing Yoga. She is a volunteer at the Lenox Hill Hospital Emergency Room and serves on the boards of The New York Society Library and The Open Center.
